On 4-7 April 2018, Lecturer Fang Yuanyuan of the Wuhan University of China Institute of Boundary and Ocean Studies (CIBOS) was invited to participate in the 59th annual meeting of American International Studies Association (ISA) at San Francisco, U.S. with the theme of "Power of Rules and Rule of Power". Hundreds of experts and scholars all over the world in the field of international relations participated in this year’s conference, including senior scholars like John Mearheimer, Stephan Walts, John Ikenberry, Nicholas Onuf, etc. At the conference, Fang delivered speeches entitled "Rule Making in Multilateral Institutions: A Case Study of APEC" and "'The Belt and Road' Initiative: Construction of New Rules for Cooperation". During the convention, Fang had extensive discussions and exchanged views with authoritative experts in this field on international issues, topics including but not limited to Sino-U.S. relations, Trump’s foreign policy, North Korea issues and so on.
