On September 26, Zhang Ruide, professor at the Department of History of the Chinese Culture University in Taiwan and adjunct professor at the Institute of History of the National Taiwan Normal University, visited our institute and held a symposium entitled "Research dynamics on the Diaoyu Islands and the South China Sea Issues in Taiwan Academic Circles". The symposium was host by Prof. Peng Dunwen and was participated by Prof. Hu Dekun, Prof. Yan Shuangwu, Prof. Han Yongli and some faculties and students from CIBOS. Prof. Zhang reviewed the sovereignty policies of the successive authorities in Taiwan on the Diaoyu Islands, introduced in detail the relevant research of Taiwan scholars on the Diaoyu Islands, and proposed that cross-strait scholars can learn from each other, enhance exchanges, and deepen research.
