Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) on "The Establishment of the Outer Limits of the Continental Shelf: Science, Technology and Law" is scheduled to be conducted in October and November 2021. The event is organized and operated by CIBOS of Wuhan University. The MOOC aims to introduce the legal regime of the continental shelf and the work of the CLCS. With nine sessions in total, the main scientific and legal issues in establishing the outer limits of the continental shelf will be discussed.

Session 7: The Submarine Fans and the Law of the Sea (2 November 2021)

Session 8: The Meaning of Natural Prolongation and Test of Appurtenance in International Law of the Sea
