CHINA INTERNATIONAL LAW OF THE SEA MOOT COURT COMPETITION

The oral rounds of the 2022 China International Law of the Sea Moot Court Competition (2022 CHINA ILOSMCC) took place on November 11-12, 2022. Due to Covid-19, it was held entirely online. The successful completion of the oral rounds also brought an end to this year’s competition, the fifth edition of the CHINA ILOSMCC.

 

The Case

The Case for the 2022 CHINA ILOSMCC is entitled “Case Concerning Iron Fertilization in the Eleanor Sea (The Republic of Futuna v. The Kingdom of Ellis)”. It centers on legal issues relating to the establishment of the outer limit of the continental shelf, marine environmental protection, marine scientific research, and legal status of Unmanned ship. The Case was prepared by Asso. Professor Alexandre Pereira da Silva (CIBOS), Asso. Professor Xiaolu Lei (CIBOS), Professor Otto Spijkers and Professor Lingjie Kong (CIBOS), with the assistance of Ms. Zhiyan Li (Ph.D. candidate at CIBOS). Winners and awards

The winner of 2022 CHINA ILOSMC is China University of Political Science and Law.Runner-up is Shandong University, and Second Runners-up are Shanghai Jiaotong University and Ocean University of China. Read the Announcement on the Results of the 2022 CHINA ILOSMCC.
