HUANG Wei is Associate Professor and Tutor for Master Degree of International Law in Wuhan University China Institute of Boundary and Ocean Studies (WHU-CIBOS) (December 2012-present), a research fellow at the Collaborative Innovation Center for Territorial Sovereignty and Maritime Rights (CICTSMR), China, and an editor of Journal of Boundary and Ocean Studies sponsored by CICTSMR and WHU-CIBOS. He is the member of the Council of Chinese Society of the Law of the Sea. He was born in Changde of Hunan, China. He received the Doctorate in International Law from Law School of Wuhan University in 2009 with an excellent doctoral dissertation. Dr. HAUNG has studied at the Netherlands Institute for the Law of the Sea in Utrecht University as a visiting scholar from September 2013 to February 2014, and worked at the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs in China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 2014 to July 2015 and from September 2016 to January 2017. He has been teaching International Law of the Sea since 2009. His research interests include the settlement of territorial and maritime disputes, especially those relating to China, the law of the sea and the law of the territory. He is the author of the monograph entitled Equitable Solution of Single Maritime Delimitation (Social Sciences Academic Press of China, 2011), of about ten academic papers published in several Chinese important Journals, of one article written in English and entitled China’s South China Sea Policy after the International Arbitration (Research Institute on National Security Affairs of Korea, December 2016) and of nearly ten reports adopted by China’s relevant departments and ministries. He is the director of the project China’s Historic Rights in the South China Sea within the U-shaped Line supported by National Philosophy and Social Science Foundation of China and the participant of three key or major programs supported by China’s ministries. In response to the South China Sea Arbitration, he published three commentaries in Renmin Wang (people.cn) and Guo Ji Xian Qu Dao Bao (International Herald Leader), accepted two interviews from CCTV (China Central Television) broadcast on Xin Wen Lian Bo (CCTV News), and participated in Shenzhen Satellite TV program Jue Sheng Zhi Gao Dian (High Spot Debate).
